PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania have released the name of a woman killed in an early morning house fire in Pittsburgh.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office reports that 73-year-old Rose Pressley died of thermal and inhalation injuries in the blaze early Friday. Her death was ruled accidental.

Authorities said the 1:40 a.m. Friday call to emergency responders didn’t describe what was wrong, so police responded and found the basement of the East Hills home on fire.

The blaze spread, causing the first floor to collapse. Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said one firefighter fell through the first floor into the basement but was uninjured.

Crews initially thought her husband was inside but later found that he’d recently been hospitalized.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
