Counties near the Tennessee state line that could see as much as three-quarters of an inch of ice from freezing rain.

I think people just need to stay off the highways if they can possibly do so,” MEMA Director Robert Latham told WAPT.com. “(The) department of transportation has been working for two or three days now putting down brine to make sure they can do what they can to minimize the freezing on the roads, but we could still have possibly black ice and ice on the roadways that could be dangerous, so we just need people to stay off the roads until it melts.”

MEMA also said there could be power outages.
