LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Lima scored two goals to secure Benfica’s 3-0 win at home over Setubal on Sunday, as the defending champion protected its lead of the Portuguese league.

Jardel opened the scoring in the ninth minute before striker Lima added goals in the 40th and 71st.

Benfica’s win restored its four-point lead over second-place FC Porto.

Benfica had already beaten Setubal four days before in the Portuguese League Cup to reach the tournament final. Benfica also beat Setubal 5-0 in their first league meeting.

Fourth-place Braga beat Arouca 2-0 as it remained four points behind Sporting Lisbon in third.



Also, it was: Rio Ave 1, Moreirense 1; Penafiel 3, Maritimo 4; and Academica 0, Boavista 0.
