LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette police have arrested 52-year-old Jerry Ronald Seals, of Lafayette, and booked him with second-degree murder in the shooting death of another Lafayette man.

Cpl. Paul Mouton, department spokesman, tells The Advertiser (https://bit.ly/1L5jbiA ) two men quarreled in the back parking lot of a fast-food restaurant shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday. Police say the 44-year-old victim, James Allen Orgeron, was sitting in a parking lot when the suspect drove up in a vehicle.

Mouton says the two men began arguing at which point Seals allegedly produced a handgun and fired multiple shots, striking Orgeron.

He says Seals was taken into custody; Orgeron died at the scene.

Mouton said the incident involved an ongoing feud between the two men.

The shooting remains under investigation.

It was unclear whether Seals has an attorney.
