CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - The threat of ice and snow mean the roads aren’t safe enough to hold the annual Highway Safety Symposium in Concord.

The symposium was scheduled to start Monday but was postponed. It’s sponsored by the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Safe Kids North Carolina.

Law enforcement, magistrates and district attorneys from across North Carolina attend the conference, which focuses on education and issues facing the highway safety community.

The director of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program is Don Nail, who says safety is the symposium’s top priority.

A new date has not been set.
