ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 31-year-old Mohawk Valley man faces several felony and misdemeanor charges after he was found with items reported stolen from the New York State Museum’s annual gem and mineral show.

Troopers were called to the museum in Albany Sunday afternoon by a vendor who said the man and his companion tried to take valuable gemstones from his booth.

Jonathan Adams of Fultonville was charged with several counts of possession of stolen property and was sent to the Albany County Jail on $7,500 bail after arraignment in city court.

His companion, 28-year-old Kirsten Dwyer of Johnstown, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after she was found to have methadone and Xanax. She was released without bail.
