SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The new Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls has hosted its first football game.

The Sioux Falls Storm defeated Sioux City 64-58 on Sunday afternoon. It was the lone exhibition game for the Indoor Football League’s reigning champions before the Storm begins the season Feb. 28 at Bemidji.

The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/17hsZ9T ) that Sunday’s game drew more than 5,000 people. Storm coach Kurtiss Riggs says the environment in the $117 million event center that opened last September “was even nicer than expected.”

Sioux Falls’ first regular-season home game is March 28, against Billings.
