JACKSON, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say two employees were injured in a fire at the Procter & Gamble plant in eastern Missouri.
The Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/17KYMBd ) reports the extent of the workers’ injuries and their condition weren’t immediately known Monday afternoon.
East County and Fruitland fire departments responded to the Jackson plant around 5 a.m. for a report of a fire.
East County Fire Chief Dwayne Kirchhoff says the blaze was contained by other employees by the time crews arrived. Kirchhoff says the incident began when a piece of equipment caught fire.
The newspaper says the plant manufactures products such as toilet paper, paper towels and diapers.
