AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Police in northeastern Ohio say a father and son were arguing over money before the 22-year-old son was stabbed to death.

Akron police have charged the man’s father with murder and felony domestic violence.

Police say 52-year-old Kevin Golec stabbed his son in the neck. Golec was being held in jail and officials didn’t know if he has an attorney.

He’s due to be arraigned Tuesday.

Police spokesman Rick Edwards tells the Akron Beacon Journal (https://bit.ly/1zIZS6d ) that the father has a drug problem and had been taking money from the family.

Authorities released a 911 call made by Golec on Friday night during which he told a dispatcher “my son is dying.”

He repeatedly told the dispatcher that “they attacked us, they came into our house.”
