LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette police probing the death of an 18-year-old, who was killed Friday on Interstate 10, are asking anyone with information on his activities that night to come forward.

Cpl. Paul Mouton tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/17dFgMM ) Grant Ingram’s body was already lying on I-10 when he was struck by a vehicle around 1:45 a.m. Friday.

Mouton says the University of Louisiana at Lafayette student had been hit “more than once” before a woman reported striking his body in the roadway.

He says police determined Ingram was hit while trying to cross the westbound lane of I-10, but the details surrounding his death end there.

Mouton says investigators are still trying to figure out what he was doing prior to the accident.
