AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine Democratic leaders are continuing their statewide “jobs tour” with a three-day visit to Aroostook County.

House Speaker Mark Eves, Democratic Leader Jeff McCabe and Assistant Majority Leader Sara Gideon are joining area lawmakers from both parties on their visit to businesses in northern Maine this week.

They’re planning to be in the area from Wednesday to Friday, while the Legislature is on its weeklong break.

The group plans to visit the Louisiana Pacific Corporation Plant in New Limerick, the St. John Valley Technology Center and McCain Foods, among other locations.

Democrats kicked off their jobs tour last month at Pratt & Whitney’s manufacturing facility in North Berwick. They say the goal is to gather ideas for how to grow the jobs and the state’s economy.
