COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Gas prices in Ohio are up slightly as drivers return to work after a long weekend.

The cost for a gallon of regular gas in Ohio was averaging $2.26 in Tuesday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s up 2 cents from a week ago.

Tuesday’s Ohio price is about 24 cents higher than a month ago, but about $1.18 less than last year at this time.

The national average Tuesday was also $2.26 per gallon. That’s about 8 cents more than a week ago and 18 cents higher than a month ago.

Analysts say a rebound in the price of crude oil has caused the increased prices at the pump.
