CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Public school students across West Virginia are getting a day off because of a winter storm.

The state Department of Education’s website shows schools in all 55 counties are closed Tuesday.

The West Virginia Supreme Court says courts in more than a dozen counties are closed because of the weather.

Marshall University also has canceled classes. The National Weather Service says Huntington received more than 10 inches of snow on Monday.

Charleston and Beckley each received about 7 inches of snow.



Appalachian Power reported about 1,400 outages Tuesday morning.
