ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Universal Orlando has submitted plans to build a water park near the Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

The Orlando Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1A250qM ) reports a report filed Friday with the South Florida Water Management District details a “water theme park” that includes a volcano with slides, a lazy river and rapids ride.

Last year, Universal Orlando filed stormwater permit documents with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The documents noted the construction on the project would continue through November 2016 and include 53 acres of “land disturbance.”
