DETROIT (AP) - City Councilwoman Mary Sheffield will sponsor a community program offering Detroit residents and organizations information on resources to help with utility bills and home repairs.

Details will be available during Sheffield’s monthly “Conversations with the Councilwoman” from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Church of the Messiah on Detroit’s east side.

Sheffield was elected in November 2013 to represent the city’s District 5 on the Council. She was appointed chair of the Neighborhood and Community Services Standing Committee and is a member of the Council’s Planning and Economic Development Standing Committee.
