PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - Authorities have confirmed a third case of measles in Clallam County.

The Peninsula Daily News reports ( https://bit.ly/1EaC2GR ) the state public health laboratory confirmed late Wednesday that one of several samples tested was positive for measles.

Authorities say a 43-year-old man had been quarantined on Feb. 5, and his infectious period occurred during this quarantine period.

Dr. Jeanette Stehr-Green is Clallam County public health officer. She says the man’s adherence to quarantine, daily reports to public health nurses and his cooperation were key in preventing public exposure.
