KOSSUTH, Miss. (AP) - A Corinth firefighter has died from injuries sustained in a one vehicle wreck.

Alcorn County Coroner Jay Jones tells The Daily Corinthian (https://bit.ly/1BpTt6J ) that 41-year-old Ronald Franks was pronounced dead at the scene of Wednesday’s accident on a county road near Kossuth.

Fire Chief Billy Briggs says Franks was found inside his wrecked vehicle several hours after the accident. Briggs says authorities were alerted of the wreck when a passerby called 911 during the early morning hours.

Briggs says Franks had been with the fire department for almost seven years. Franks drove a fire truck for Fire Station No. 3.
