EPHRATA, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania prosecutor says a man hid in the bushes before fatally shooting his on-again, off-again girlfriend in the parking lot of her apartment building.

Randall Shreiner was charged Thursday with criminal homicide and carrying a gun without a license in connection with Monica Miller’s death Wednesday morning.

The 58-year-old Shreiner is jailed without bail pending a Feb. 27 preliminary hearing. Information on his lawyer wasn’t immediately available.

Police say the old West Lampeter Township man ambushed Miller as she left for work around 6:20 a.m.

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman says Shreiner was upset Miller was trying to end their relationship.

Police identified Shreiner as a suspect Wednesday night and he turned himself in Thursday morning.
