SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - A Washington, D.C. woman has been killed after being hit by a suspected drunk driver as she waited near a bus stop.

Montgomery County Police say 49-year-old Vanessa Dixon was standing near a bus stop in the White Oak area when a driver crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and hit her around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the driver then hit a car parked on the street, continued on, and hit another car parked in a driveway.

Police say the driver, 22-year-old David Rodriguez of Silver Spring, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police say charges will be determined pending the outcome of the investigation.

No attorney is listed for Rodriguez in online court records.
