ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - Ferguson city leaders are partnering with Lindenwood University in nearby St. Charles in a wide-ranging effort to help both adults and students.

The partnership, announced Wednesday, includes $625,000 in financial aid for students in five St. Louis County school districts in the Ferguson area. It also includes scholarships for adult residents to study entrepreneurship.

Other initiatives will send Lindenwood students to Ferguson for volunteer work, to work as interns, and to do media projects.

Mayor James Knowles III says the partnership will benefit Ferguson in many ways and help it grow as a community.
