GREENPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Police say three people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire consumed a home on eastern Long Island.

The Southold Town Police Department says investigators are working to determine what caused the blaze that erupted around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say it “completely destroyed” a house on Kaplan Avenue in Greenport.

Police say the three adults got out on their own. They were treated at a hospital for minor smoke inhalation and have been released.

Police say the fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
