GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A man who served as Glendale’s acting city manager for four months in 2013 is back doing the same job.

Dick Bowers began work Wednesday as Glendale’s acting city manager during the recruitment process for a permanent city manager.

Bowers has three decades of experience in public service with 10 years as the city manager of Scottsdale.

He has worked with Glendale on various projects over the years including the development and implementation of the city’s Centerline downtown redevelopment project.

Bowers has been the president of his own consulting firm since 2001.
