PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gov. Gina Raimondo has chosen 24 people to help improve career and technical education in the state.

Raimondo announced Thursday that she has named 15 members to the Rhode Island Career and Technical Board of Trustees and nine members to the Rhode Island Career and Technical Education Trust.

The two boards were created last legislative session and will work with local businesses to identify employment opportunities and promote workforce development.

Raimondo says a highly skilled workforce will help attract companies, stimulate the economy and expand opportunities for Rhode Islanders.

The members Raimondo chose include business executives, state leaders and education officials.
