WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A special group led by Attorney General Alan Wilson is gathering to discuss ways to combat human trafficking in South Carolina.

Subcommittees of the prosecutor’s task force are holding meetings on Thursday at the City of West Columbia Municipal Complex.

Wilson’s office says task force members are working on ways to implement the state’s plan to address human trafficking. Subgroups include law enforcement, victim assistance and public awareness.

The day’s final meetings are being held in conjunction with a gathering of the South Carolina Immigrant Victim Network Coalition.
