SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The controversy over Chicago’s Jackie Robinson West Little League national championship has reached the Illinois Statehouse.

State Rep. Monique Davis introduced a resolution Thursday calling on Little League International to reinstate the championship victory for the all-black youth baseball team.

The Chicago Democrat says she also wants all league teams to be scrutinized as closely as Jackie Robinson West.

The league stripped the team of its title last week after officials said an investigation found Jackie Robinson West officials falsified boundaries to add ineligible players.

Davis says it was “unfair” to strip the title and wants all the teams “held to the same standard.”

Little League International has said its decision is final.

The resolution is HR116.
