LABADIEVILLE, La. (AP) - Assumption Parish sheriff’s deputies are investigating the slaying of a man whose body was found in his front yard in Labadieville (LAH’-buh-dee-vil).

Sheriff Mike Waguespack tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1z1I71R ) deputies responded to a call Tuesday saying that the man, later identified as 20-year-old Daquan Rainey, was lying in a yard.

Waguespack said Rainey had a small stab wound.

Deputies say Rainey had recently moved to Assumption Parish with relatives and was a former resident of Houma.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office for information leading to an arrest in the case.
