DOVER, N.H. (AP) - Two men will spend decades in prison following the stabbing death of another man during a robbery in 2012.

Corey Bennett was sentenced to 30 years Thursday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery. He agreed to testify against another defendant, Christopher Gay, in the death of 22-year-old Ryan Stewart in Farmington.

Gay was later sentenced to years to 40 years to life in prison.

WMUR-TV reports Bennett apologized to Stewart’s family in Strafford County Superior Court on Thursday.

Prosecutors said Gay and Bennett went into Stewart’s home and assaulted him before Gay stabbed Stewart. Gay’s lawyers argued that Bennett was the one who killed Stewart.
