MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Police in suburban Atlanta are investigating after a man was shot to death inside a taxicab.

Marietta police say they found 22-year old Tomas Arriola with a gunshot wound in the passenger seat of the cab on Wednesday afternoon. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police say their initial investigation found that Arriola was riding with his father, Tomas Arriola Sr., when they picked up two customers and drove them to the St. Augustine Condominiums on Franklin Road.

Police say one of the customers in the back seat pulled a handgun and tried to rob the Arriolas.

Police say that after the son was shot, both suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
