OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Department of Health is accepting nominations for awards to recognize outstanding commitment to child abuse prevention in Oklahoma.

The Health Department’s Family Support and Prevention Service says nominations are due by March 18. Awards will be presented April 14.

Award categories include the 2015 Outstanding Elected Official Award, which is given to recognize an elected official for distinguished service on behalf of children and families in Oklahoma.

Nominations are also being accepted for the 2015 Marion Jacewitz Award, given to recognize an individual in Oklahoma who has made significant contributions to the prevention of child abuse on a statewide level, and the 2015 Outstanding Child Abuse Prevention Program Award, given to recognize an exceptional community program that has an emphasis in child abuse prevention.
