BROOKVILLE, Ohio (AP) - A firefighter in suburban Dayton has been convicted of charges related to having sex with a 16-year-old girl.

The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office says 26-year-old Joshua Rawlins pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of abduction and one count of misdemeanor sexual imposition. Charges of sexual battery were dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Until his arrest last March, Rawlins was a firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Brookville Fire Department. Prosecutors say he had sex with the teen on and off duty.

Rawlins could face up to three years in prison when he’s sentenced March 18. He’ll also have to register with the state as a sex offender for 15 years.
