PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix couple has again pleaded not guilty to charges in the 2013 death of their severely malnourished 15-month-old daughter.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 39-year-old Denise Janelle Snow-Ingram and her 38-year-old husband Ernest Ingram entered the pleas at their arraignment Thursday.

The 2013 case was dismissed and new charges of murder and child abuse were recently filed by prosecutors against the couple.

Arrests were made after police responded to an emergency call about a child not breathing on July 10, 2013. The infant later died at a hospital.

Police say the parents told them the child hadn’t seen a doctor since birth due to their religious beliefs.

They say the girl weighed less than 9 pounds and suffered from “profound malnutrition” along with numerous bone fractures.
