TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Pima County jail inmate who walked away from a work crew last weekend has been apprehended.

County Sheriff’s officials say Laura Rios was taken into custody Thursday afternoon by detectives with the Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Investigative Strike Team.

They say Rios was with her 34-year-old boyfriend, who was arrested for probation violation on an armed robbery charge.

Sheriff’s officials say Rios was transported back to the county Adult Detention Complex and booked on one count of escape.

She had walked away from an inmate work crew Sunday afternoon at the Pima Animal Care Center.

Rios was serving several months for a probation violation in connection with a charge of trafficking in stolen property.
