SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a roofing company worker who fell through a skylight in coastal Georgia.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police spokesman Julian Miller says 19-year-old Joseph Martin of Richmond Hill fell to his death Wednesday at National Gypsum Co.

Miller says Martin was trying to secure himself to a safety line when he stepped on a thin fiberglass skylight and fell through.

Miller says police have contacted officials from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration about Martin’s death.
