ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) - Police in northeastern Ohio say five teenagers attacked and stabbed a man who was defending his daughter after she broke up with one of the boys.

All five of the boys, ranging in age from 14 to 17, have been charged with attempted murder, felonious assault and aggravated rioting.

Police in Elyria say the victim suffered several stab wounds in the chest, back and neck.

Officers say the attack happened last weekend when the group went to the ex-girlfriend’s home and her father confronted the boys.

Police say the father was treated at a Cleveland hospital and has since been released.
