MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey man reported missing Monday and whose car was found in a suspicious fire has been found alive and well in Florida.

Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Charles Webster said that 55-year-old Anthony Tassello, of Middletown, was found Thursday morning in Fort Lauderdale.

Police in Fort Lauderdale referred calls to the prosecutors in New Jersey, but Webster didn’t have additional information on how Tassello was found. He says Tassello is not charged with any crimes.

The car Tassello was driving in was one of five burned during a fire deemed suspicious by prosecutors at Tom’s Ford Dealership on Route 35 in Keyport Tuesday morning.

It wasn’t known if Tassello planned to return to New Jersey.
