NEW ROADS, La. (AP) - Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff’s deputies are on the hunt for a 31-year-old man they suspect of fatally shooting two siblings outside a New Roads nightclub.

Sheriff Bud Torres tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1w0AxtR ) authorities don’t know why the brother and sister were killed.

Torres said an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect on two counts of first-degree murder.

The sheriff says 42-year-old Lechelle Rita Williams and her 38-year-old brother, Sinica Lee Williams, were killed about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Sugar Shack nightclub.

Torres says an argument with another woman inside the club turned physical and it moved outside. He says witnesses told deputies the suspect walked up to the victims and started shooting.
