CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a head-on crash near Conway that killed two people and sent four to the hospital over the weekend.

Horry County police tell local media outlets the wreck happened about 7 p.m. Sunday when a pickup truck swerved and struck an SUV on U.S 378 about eight miles outside of Conway.

The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck were killed. Two people in the SUV were taken to the hospital.

A third vehicle then smashed into the back of the SUV and its two occupants were also taken to the hospital.

The coroner said the names of the victims are expected to be released Monday.
