OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin began her annual state of the state speech with a moment of silence for Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers Nicholas Dees and Keith Burch.

Dees was killed and Burch injured when they were struck by a vehicle while at the scene of a traffic accident during the weekend.

Dees and Burch were investigating a semitrailer crash near Shawnee Saturday night when they were hit while standing outside of their vehicles near Interstate 40.

Fallin called for the moment of silence at the start of her speech to a joint session of the Oklahoma House and Senate on Monday.
