MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A fisherman who lost his way in whiteout conditions on Lake Mendota is rescued.

Dane County sheriff’s officials say the Madison man was out on the ice near Governors Island late Sunday afternoon, but couldn’t find his way back to shore because of the wind and low visibility.

A deputy used a snowmobile to search for the man and was able to locate him and bring him to shore. WKOW-TV (https://bit.ly/1CS6BQX ) says Madison police also helped with the rescue.
