NEW YORK (AP) - New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is warning commuters to be “very cautious” as another winter storm system brings a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain to the metro area.

The mayor urged commuters to avoid the roads on Monday and use mass transit instead. He said the biggest threat is up to a quarter inch of ice on roads.

National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the New York City area until 6 p.m. Monday. Weather officials forecast snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches.

Alternate side parking regulations have been suspended Monday, but schools will be open.
