DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Prosecutors are asking jurors in Decatur to convict the second of three people charged in a double killing at a north Alabama restaurant.

Opening arguments were held Monday in Decatur in the trial of 23-year-old Ezekiel Gholston of Hartselle.

Gholston is charged with capital murder in the killings of night manager Jeffrey Mark Graff and employee Jessie Jose Aguilar at a Krystal restaurant in 2011.

Prosecutors say Gholston participated in a robbery that turned deadly and should be found guilty.

The defense doesn’t deny Gholston was involved. But it argues he lacked the intent to kill anyone.

Evidence in a previous trial showed two workers were shot to death during a robbery.

Alleged triggerman Jordaan Creque was convicted and is now on Alabama’s death row. A third person awaits trial.
