NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police are trying to find the people responsible for spray painting two historic buildings in the 1100 block of Chartres Street in the French Quarter.

Police tell NOLA.com/The Times Picayune (https://bit.ly/1LiEeMI ) the graffiti incidents Feb. 15 at the Beauregard House and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Officers say the doors of the church were splashed with red paint, and the words “Kill God!” were spray painted on a wall.

Detectives said they believe some people involved in an impromptu march in the area might be responsible. Detectives are in the process of trying to interview witnesses to locate possible suspects.
