IONIA, Mich. (AP) - Officials say burst water pipes have closed the Ionia County Circuit Court building.

Undersheriff Charlie Noll tells The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1LlFEYF ) that the problem caused first-floor flooding near an entrance and forced the evacuation of the building Friday morning.

Noll says maintenance crews are working on repairs, but the building will likely remain closed for the day and court proceedings rescheduled.

The shutdown came amid bitterly cold weather across the state.
