LAS VEGAS (AP) - A dog attack in a northeast Las Vegas residential area on Friday morning sent two people to the hospital.

Police Officer Miguel Garcia says three or four dogs attacked the adults shortly before 10 a.m. in the 900 block of Looking Glass Lane.

He says their condition at University Medical Center was unknown, but they appeared to suffer non-life threatening injuries. Their names weren’t released.

Garcia says police received a call that one of the victims shouted for help while on the ground and being attacked.

He says an officer was forced to shoot one of the dogs, but it wasn’t immediately known whether the animal died or survived.

Garcia says officers apparently were able to corral the other dogs and they were taken into custody by local animal control officials.

Neighbors told KSNV-TV that the dogs are pit bulls and have been aggressive in the past.
