SPRINGERVILLE, Ariz. (AP) - An eastern Arizona forest is under new leadership and so is one of its ranger districts.

The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests announced this week that Tom Osen has been named forest supervisor. He had been serving in the post temporarily.

Osen succeeds Jim Zornes, who left the forest for another job last month.

Forest officials also announced that Ed Holloway Jr. will oversee the Alpine Ranger District. The Las Cruces, New Mexico, native replaces long-time district ranger Richard Davalos, who retired in November.

Both Osen and Holloway say they’re honored to be stewards of the land.
