PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A search warrant affidavit says a former Brown University football player accused of sexually assaulting a Providence College student in November 2013 says he’s the target of “cyber-harassment.”

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1w4LoCP ) that the Brown student, who was not indicted, told the Rhode Island State Police that emails and letters from an unknown person have been sent to him, his high school guidance counselor, the parents of a female friend and the president of Brown.

A State Police detective referred to the letters, emails and social networking posts as derogatory and that they have caused “substantial emotional distress.”

Brown University officials say they cannot disclose whether disciplinary action was taken in connection with the case.
