AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Two people remain in consideration to become the next president of the University of Southern Maine.

The school said Friday that Zito Sartarelli, one of the three finalists, has withdrawn his name from consideration.

Sartarelli is chief global officer and dean of the business college at West Virginia University. University of Maine System Trustee Jim Erwin, who’s leading the search, told the Portland Press Herald that Sartarelli didn’t think the school was a good fit for him.

The remaining two finalists are Glenn Cummings and Harvey Kesselman.

Cummings is currently president of the University of Maine at Augusta. Kesselman serves as provost and executive vice president at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

University of Maine System Chancellor James Page is expected to make his decision in March.
