BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Firefighters remain at the scene of a blaze that broke out inside one of the tallest buildings in Buffalo.

Officials tell local media that the fire was reported around 5 a.m. Friday on the 15th floor of the 26-story downtown office building. Firefighters had to climb 15 flights of stairs to reach the blaze, which sent heavy smoke and charged papers billowing from windows.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield says no injuries have been reported. Officials say the fire is under control.

The blaze broke out in a storage room and damaged three upper floors.

It’s unknown yet whether anyone was inside the building, which houses technology, communication and law offices.

Streets around the building are closed. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
