ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Voters will choose from among three Alexandria Democrats on Saturday in a special election to fill the vacant House District 26 seat.

The candidates are Jeff Hall, a retired Cleco executive; Alice Hammond, a retired Air Force captain; and Daniel Williams, Alexandria’s director of Community Services.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/1ME7hhb ) House District 26 includes most of Alexandria as well as the southern part of Pineville.

If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes in Saturday’s primary, a runoff between the top two finishers would be held March 28.

The winner will fill the remainder of Herbert Dixon’s legislative term, which ends next January. Dixon resigned Dec. 10 to focus on his health.
