DAPHNE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama authorities have confirmed that a man who committed suicide on the shoulder of an Alabama interstate highway was wanted in a killing in Indiana.

WKRG-TV reports (https://bit.ly/17Auv7j ) the Baldwin County coroner’s office confirmed that 40 year-old Jeffrey Dyer was the man who shot himself Wednesday on Interstate 10. Authorities say Dyer of Odon, Indiana, killed himself after being stopped by police near the southwest Alabama town of Daphne.

Investigators 680 miles away in Daviess County, Indiana, had been looking for Dyer following a slaying there Tuesday. The victim was identified as Travis Woodruff.
